Cirque du Soleil at Comic-Con

A highlight of San Diego Comic-Con Preview Night was the extraordinary one-of-a-kind performance of KÀ by Cirque du Soleil against the backdrop of a 90-foot-high outside wall at Petco Park across the street from the convention center. My roommates were lucky enough to catch this brief but dazzling display of 3D projections, epic musical score and live performance artists being presented at the end of the SDCC opening night festivities. This impressive athletic display was created especially for Comic-Con, and was unique in that it turned the Petco stadium facade into an interactive performance space, or vertical “stage”, in order to tell the dramatic tale of the KÀ twins battling an enemy warrior tribe — at a height of almost 100-feet off the ground!

Thanks to Nora and Maggie for sharing their on-site experience!
